  • Basics of Golf for Adults

    Explore learning the fundamentals of golf - grip, stance, swing, use of basic clubs, golf etiquette and an overview of the game. Bring a putter and clubs to each session. Balls and mats are provided. The first class meets at South Campus.  The class may make use of the Aldrich Dome or  the Keller Range for some sessions.   • Intro to Dragon Boat Paddling

    WOMEN ON THE WATER! Intro to Dragon Boat Paddling Dragon boating is one of the fastest growing sports in the world! Soaring down a race course in a long, narrow canoe-like boat, 20 paddlers moving in synchronicity toward that finish line, is a feeling like nothing else! Here’s an opportunity to enjoy learning this sport, meet new people, and spend time on our beautiful White Bear Lake! Try it out! You will have four, weekly training sessions (1 ½ hour each time) and then participate as a team in the St. Paul Dragon Festival at Lake Phalen. Paddles, boat and life jackets provided (though if you have your own life jacket, feel free to bring it). The fee covers training, coaching, equipment and race entry fees. Requirements: Women must be at least age 21 and have a basic level of fitness.  Practice: Thursdays, June 13, 20, 27 and July 11 from 6:45 8:15 p.m. Race: Saturday July 13.   • Learn to Kayak

    Get outdoors, learn something new, and experience your parks! Kick off summer with a kayak paddle on White Bear Lake to look for birds, turtles, and fish. Learn how to paddle, get in and out safely, and what to pack for a day on the water. Learn how relaxing and fun paddling can be. We will have both double and single kayaks available. Life vests are provided. Wear shoes that can get wet and dress in layers for time on the water. Children ages 6-16 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
