  • Guided Kayak Adventure

    Would you like to spend an enjoyable couple of hours on the lake with cool people? Lake Demontreville is the perfect size lake to paddle on a guided tour starting at the boat launch, through a fun channel and into Lake Olson. Take in the sites of a beautiful lake shore and keep your eyes open for wildlife. This adventure is suitable for all levels; guides will provide pointers about how to properly paddle and maneuver your kayaks. SilverFinn Kayaking provides kayaks, paddles and all necessary safety equipment. NOTE: Lake Demontreville does not have an address for the public boat landing.   • Introduction to Dragon Boat Racing for Women

    Learn to paddle a dragon boat!!! Soaring down a race course in a long, narrow, canoe-like boat, 20 paddlers moving in synchronicity toward that finish line, is a feeling like nothing else! Here’s an opportunity to enjoy learning this sport, meet new people and spend time on our beautiful White Bear Lake! Try it out! You will have four, one-hour weekly training sessions with a race and catered picnic on the last day! Paddles, boat and life jackets provided (though if you have your own life jacket, please bring it). Requirements: Must be at least age 18 Have a basic level of fitness. This sport requires some cardio stamina! Practice Dates: Tuesdays @ 7:00pm June 10, 17, 24 and July 1 Race Day for Fun: Saturday, July 12 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Fee: $195 covers training, coaching, equipment, t-shirt, race and picnic lunch Location of Practice & Race Day: Matoska Park, White Bear Lake REFUNDS: Refunds are not available unless we have a waitlist and we can fill your spot in the boat.

    Learn the basics of kayaking on a Lake in your own backyard. You will receive a comprehensive orientation on land of proper paddling techniques, water safety, entering and exiting your kayak, and the chance to practice these new skills on White Bear Lake. This is a great way to build a new skill set or improve upon what you already know about kayaking. SilverFinn Kayaking provides kayaks, paddles, and all necessary safety equipment. Students under 18 must be registered with an adult.
  • Lynch Pickleball Camp

    You’ll love pickleball! America’s fastest growing sport is fun and easy to learn. It’s played on a shortened tennis court with a paddle and plastic balls and combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. Come and meet new people or bring a friend. Led by an experienced professional. Wear court shoes and bring Water bottle and pickleball paddle. We will have a few paddles for use. Beginner Pickleball: You’ll learn the rules, scoring and how to play with fun lessons and drills. We’ll match you up with a partner of like ability to practice the various skills and to play a match in a low key fun environment. Intermediate Beginner Pickleball: This class is for the person who has taken a beginner class and is ready to take their game to the next level. Improve your skills and meet new people of like ability. We’ll start with a warm up and then get things rolling with some fun drills, games and competition. No need to bring a partner as everyone will rotate around. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing and bring a paddle and a water bottle.
  • Minnesota Biome Hike

    This two-mile guided nature walk will allow you to experience habitats found within the three biomes of our state – the deciduous forest, the coniferous forest and the prairie. A Minnesota Master Naturalist Instructor will guide you through a tamarack bog, oak woodland and restored prairie and describe the plant communities, creatures and ecological processes present in the Linwood School Forest. The history of the Linwood School Forest as well as the current partnerships, collaborations, research and service-learning will be presented. Attendees will learn how to set up a trail camera and how to age trees. There will be multiple opportunities to stop and rest to listen and look for birds as well as other animals living in this forest. Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring water, snacks and binoculars, if you have them. Please park at the lot on the north end of the forest.     Do you already walk for enjoyment or exercise? Nordic Pole Walking will turn a simple walk into a full body workout without feeling like you are working any harder! This style of walking will increase your heart rate and create resistance to build better bone density while working your upper body as well as your legs. It uses specially designed poles-not to be confused with trekking poles - to enhance your natural walking experience. Burn more calories, improve your posture and gait. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Poles provided by the instructor. We will meet at the White Bear Area High School Field House for the walk. If it rains we will walk indoors. Give yourself permission to slow down and intentionally connect your senses to the healing beauty of our metro area’s green forested spaces. Walk will be held in the rain and snow, but not thunderstorms or negative temperatures. Please wear/bring mosquito/tick repellent and sunscreen if desired. Please bring water if you would like to have some available throughout the walk. NOTES Please arrive at the walk location 15 minutes prior to the walk to allow for check-in and walk overview. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated due to the immersive nature of the program. This is a TECH-FREE experience, so please leave mobile phones in your car for duration of the walk.
