Virtual Story Time
Summertime is the right time to prepare for the upcoming Nordic ski season!
This program will focus on strength, technique, speed and endurance. You can attend any or all weekly sessions, plus alternating Saturday mornings. The Wednesday evening sessions, though, will be of higher rigor with a focus on long-distance rolls.
Wednesdays are evening sessions (6 – 8 PM). Tuesday and Thursdays are morning sessions (8 – 10 AM). * There are no Monday sessions.
The two morning sessions (Tuesday and Thursday) are geared more toward skills and will gradually turn into longer distance rolls. Saturday rolls will be at various locations in the eastern metro and will be primarily longer distance rolls.
Locations will vary within the ISD 624 boundaries, and the Wednesday and Saturday sessions will be a little further afield, but nearby. Roller skis are required (a combo or classic ski or a set of skate skis and a set of classic), and helmets are mandatory. There will be some skis, boots, and poles available for use, but the supply is limited. All participants will receive a T-shirt!
The program will be headed up by Doug Cran, Head Coach of the White Bear Lake Area Schools Nordic Ski Team. With any questions, please email him at crannordic@gmail.com
The program begins June 3 and runs until July 27. All sessions June 3, 4, & 5 will take place from 6 –8 PM at the high school. There are no sessions during the July 4th week.
Cost- $175 per participant
