Virtual Story Time
The greatest jewelers of all time are most closely associated with the Romanovs, the richest emperors of all time. Providing adornments for the tsarist court set fashions for the rest of the European royal families. The end of the Romanov empire might have terminated the ability to continue producing the delicate works but not the mystique. This presentation is filled with examples of their artistry and describes the court life in which such art was possible.
As the education outreach coordinator at the Museum of Russian Art (TMORA), Carol Veldman Rudie uses her college teaching skills to research and to present background to Russian art and culture. She has been the lead docent at TMORA since 2005 and developed its docent training program. Since then, she has received multiple invitations to share her research through power point presentations. As a special interest, she led tours to Russia. She has her MA from the University of Minnesota and subsequently did graduate work that included Art History. Sharing her love for the visual, performance and literary arts motivates her involvement with TMORA.
