In the Folk Tradition: Nesting Dolls in Russian Crafts

Enrichment Adult / Arts -
AE 2425 Fall

Russia's great folk tradition came to include such things as toys, embroidery, wood carving, and nesting dolls. Especially important are those craft traditions that involve the medium of wood building and carving. Exploring nesting dolls in the context of the folk tradition gives added context to understanding artistry in wood.
