AARP Fraud Watch Network volunteer Scott Nelson shares his experience and highlights ways to protect yourself from being a victim of fraud.
AARP Fraud Watch Network volunteer, Scott Nelson, has noticed a trend. Working closely with the Senior Community within the Medicare insurance industry, many conversations involve elderly fraud and the experiences clients are having and/or perhaps they know of someone who was scammed.
In 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, Scott's parents were targeted by a sweepstakes scammer, losing a large part of their savings. Scott now actively shares his family's story and presents AARP's knowledge of scams to help protect you and your loved ones from being another victim of fraud.
