Specific events and climate episodes have had an ever-lasting effect on cultures, landscapes, and historical events. Weather has played a key role in shaping human history. We will discuss several examples as we explore how weather has shaped our history in this presentation!

Mark Seeley

Dr. Mark Seeley retired in 2018 after nearly 40 years as Extension Climatologist and Meteorologist at the University of MN. He provides weekly weather commentary on MN Public Radio’s Morning Edition, produces documentaries for Twin Cities Public Television (TPT) and is the author of Minnesota Weather Almanac. He continues to provide presentations on climate change and its effects on the state’s infrastructure and natural resources.
