    Create a beautiful hanging fabric collage using a technique called Slow Stitching - a relaxing form of embroidery that focuses on process rather than pattern. We'll begin by layering fabric scraps onto a 6 x 6" square and then use a variety of hand embroidery stitches as well as trims, beads, etc. to add texture and color.     Alcohol Ink is an exciting and versatile medium perfect for creating lively abstract art, and hydrangeas offer a beautiful subject to explore this technique. In your class, you'll learn to use a silicone tool to outline and fill in the petals, enhancing them with white alcohol ink for added depth. With the choice of a contrasting white or black background, you can create vibrant compositions, and if you make a mistake, simply use ISO alcohol to wipe it away and start fresh. Your instructor will provide step-by-step guidance, allowing you to express your creativity and potentially paint a second piece if time allows. NOTE: There is a $15 cash supply fee due at class
  • Glass Mosaic Table or Sign

    Glass mosaic sounds like a fancy, difficult art form; however, in this class, you will learn how it can be fun and easy while creating a tabletop or sign! Look through the idea book, browse the patterns and stencils, and choose from dozens of colors of precut glass. Sign ideas include Welcome, house number, last name, state of Minnesota. Tables are 16”x16” and 16” tall and signs vary in size. The first night we will design and glue the glass to the project, the second night we will grout the finished project and learn about mosaics. Providing adornments for the tsarist court set fashions for the rest of the European royal families. The end of the Romanov empire might have terminated the ability to continue producing the delicate works but not the mystique. This presentation is filled with examples of their artistry and describes the court life in which such art was possible.

We will paint on a 16" x 20" canvas that will be ready for you to frame and hang on your wall at home. Please note: Oil paintings take 4 weeks to fully dry but can be inserted into the frame of your choice and hung immediately. REMINDERS: A $20 cash material fee is due to the instructor at class. Lippan Art, traditionally know us Lippan Kaam or Mud Mirror Work, is a mural craft from the Kutch region of Gujarat, India. It is created using a mixture of clay (mud), camel dung, and mirrors to form intricate designs on walls, giving them a rich, decorative look.

    Help save the planet through crocheting by transforming your used plastic bags into wonderfully unique, sturdy and fun market bags! You will learn what types of plastic bags work, how to cut the plastic, and lay out colors to create patterns. Bring to class: Size 10 / J / 6mm crochet hook Sharp Scissor To save time in class, the plastic bags will be provided to you (recycled and donated by others). This class is for intermediate level crocheting, not for beginners. You MUST know how to crochet.

    Create a colorful birdbath to entice birds to your yard. Decorate a terracotta saucer with mosaic tiles to suit your taste. It can then be placed on a wrought iron stand which can be purchased locally and it is beautiful when completed. A $25 supply fee due the day of class.

In this class you will learn a bit of history on this art form and the basic strokes and supplies needed to create a finished work of art. We will spend class time practicing and perfecting the strokes on paper before moving on to a small wooden object provided.

  • Sparkly Glass Mosaic Garden Gazing Ball

    Using an old bowling ball and glass/mirror, I will help you create a gazing ball to add some sparkle to your garden. Stencils and an idea book are available during this 2 evening class. The first evening will be designing and working on your project while the second night is grouting and learning about mosaics. NOTE: $30 cash supply fee due at class. You must bring your own bowling ball.
