Sandra Bengtson

Hi! I am Sandra Bengtson, owner of Avant Garb Fashions. I created my business, in part, because I believe that knowing how to sew is an important life skill that, if nourished, becomes a hobby, a craft and a great way to express creativity.

I was fortunate… to have a mother who taught me at an early age how to sew. I loved that I had the ability to create and share with others one-of-a-kind, hand-made items that reflected personal style. One day it occurred to me… that everyone deserves the same opportunity that I was given; to learn and advance their sewing skills. I am committed to… spreading my love of sewing. After working almost 30 years with Community Education, I now offer beginner and advanced beginner sewing classes that provide a warm, inclusive classroom environment with fun, laughter and perhaps even new friendships.
