WBL Community Ed is excited to partner with the Soar Tennis Academy for kids tennis programming. Soar Tennis was founded by Matt Swigart, a USPTA certified teaching pro who is the winningest all-time Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at the University of Northwestern - St. Paul. Matt and his coaching staff are excited to work with WBL students and families this summer!
DEFINITIONS
Beginner - For players who have little to no experience playing tennis. Students will learn each stroke from the very beginning and work on technique in a success-orientated environment. This class uses age-appropriate tennis balls.
Intermediate - For players who completed the Beginner class or have some playing experience. Concentration is on improving technique and learning how to control the ball. In class players focus on stroke production, learning to hit to specific targets and point playing experiences.
Advanced - Prerequisite: Beg/Inter Class or equivalent experience. Students will concentrate on court positioning, strategy and reviewing and improving their techniques. There will be “player sustained” drills which simulate match play.
Learn to play matches! This tennis is for players who have completed at least the intermediate classes and who are interested in learning about playing matches. This is for kids who are going into 5th grade through 9th Grade. Participants must be able to serve the ball in and maintain a rally.
