  • Sugar Plum Tree - Alcohol Inks

    Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Abstract Art that is fun and colorful? Alcohol Ink is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. With so many different techniques, Alcohol Inks will soon become a favorite medium. To make your Sugar Plum Tree, you will first create the background by blowing the Alcohol ink with a hand blower and Isopropyl Alcohol. Then you will create the vase by dripping the ink and spreading it with dental tools. Next, you can drop various inks in any color to create your flowers. The last step is to highlight your flowers with doodles. Remember this is the fun part – explore your creativity. Your instructor will help guide you through each step. You will make one 8” x 10” painting in your chosen colors. Given time, you can create a 2nd painting. Just come to have fun and enjoy yourself. Best part of using Alcohol Ink is if you don’t like a part of your picture, you can wipe it off with ISO alcohol. NOTE: There is a $15 cash supply fee due at class

  • Let’s Probate an Actual Minnesota Estate

    In this class we will walk-thru (in depth) an actual Minnesota Probate Estate from the filing of the Application for Probate to the Final Accounts . . . and all the steps in between. Class participants will learn the entire process with current forms, Court and filing requirements, accounting and procedural steps, as well as the procedures for the sale and distribution of estate assets. We will also discuss the roles, responsibilities, and liabilities of a person who is appointed as the Executor/Personal Representative. The class will be filled with real-life examples and solutions to the multitude of issues involving a typical (or not typical) Minnesota Probate Estate. This class encourages questions: Is there a “reading of the Will”? What about personal items? Does the Executor get paid? What about estate bills and creditors? We will provide the answers.

Led by an experienced professional. Wear court shoes and bring Water bottle and pickleball paddle. We will have a few paddles for use. Beginner Pickleball: You’ll learn the rules, scoring and how to play with fun lessons and drills. We’ll match you up with a partner of like ability to practice the various skills and to play a match in a low key fun environment. Intermediate Beginner Pickleball: This class is for the person who has taken a beginner class and is ready to take their game to the next level. Improve your skills and meet new people of like ability. We’ll start with a warm up and then get things rolling with some fun drills, games and competition. No need to bring a partner as everyone will rotate around. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing and bring a paddle and a water bottle.

    Join us in experiencing Russian culture! Take a guided tour of the Museum of Russian Art, an American organization, which promotes understanding of the art, people, and culture of Muscovite Russia, the Russian Empire, and the Soviet Union, and its former republics. The current exhibit is Icons of the Late Empire, the visual language of Eastern Christianity. There will also be time to explore on our own. Then it is off to lunch at Moscow on the Hill, for an authentic Russian & Ukrainian lunch.   • Rain Barrels

    Rain barrels harvest rainwater from roofs and other structures that can then be used to water gardens, lawns, and potted plants. Installing a rain barrel is an excellent way to reduce run-off and pollution as well as save MONEY! As much as 40% of residential water is used for irrigation in the summer. Participants will learn the ins and outs of rain barrels, site selection, and other tips to use rain barrels most efficiently. We will also talk about the pros and cons of many of the commercially available rain barrels and how to make your own.

You will learn what types of plastic bags work, how to cut the plastic, and lay out colors to create patterns.
