    Minnesota law mandates a 10% reduction in car insurance premiums for persons 55 years and older who complete a defensive driving class. Courses consist of an overview of safe driving; there are no writing or driving tests required. Classes take place at the Senior Center located at Senior Center 2484 East County Road F, White Bear Lake, unless otherwise stated. Advanced registration is required and can be done by mail, walk-in, or online at www.whitebearregistration.org. No drop-ins.For a complete listing of other sites and classes, call the AARP Information Center at (952) 858-9040.  The Refresher Course is 4 hours and is for those who have completed a Full Course but need to renew the certificate.

    To provide essential services and utilize the gifts of our ever-growing aging population, the White Bear Area Senior Program relies on and appreciates our neighbors' continuous and generous financial support.  Our mission is to provide information, activities, and services to enhance the lives of older adults. We strive to provide and create opportunities in a manner which affirms the dignity and self-worth of each individual. Annually: Deliver over 18,000 meals through Meals on Wheels; Connect countless individuals and families to housing, transportation, nutrition, medical and social services through our Elder Resource Specialists; Host over 15 weekly activities for 400 Senior Center members; and Engage over 300 volunteers who gave back thousands of hours to their community. In addition, the White Bear Area Senior Program provides a foot care clinic, Medicare consultants, the Craft Corner Gift Shop and a library, as well as AARP Smart Driver education, adult enrichment and fitness classes. To accomplish all of this, the White Bear Area Senior Program relies on the financial support of generous donors like yourself.
